Event Description

It's the ultimate fun run, bucket list event and genuinely unique and challenging 5K.  The 8th Annual Bare Burro Nude 5K is the best nude run in Southern California.  It starts at Olive Dell Nudist Resort and goes through the foothills, along trails with panoramic views, ending back at the resort swimming pool and clubhouse.  It's a technical course that's roughly 50% dirt fire roads and the balance on single track dirt trails.

With runs of up to 300 participants, there is a great mix of serious runners and fun lovers looking for a unique running experience. Top finishers are highly competitive with a number of running clubs participating.  A breakdown of finishing times by sex and age group is on the Event Website.   Price includes commemorative gift, awards for top 3 finishers in each age grade, all day admission to the club with tennis, restaurant, pool and huge jacuzzi.

New for 2017, there is a Naked Beer Mile Fun Run on Saturday April 22.  So make a full weekend of it and come out on Saturday for the Naked Beer (or carbonated beverage) Mile at 3pm, followed by a special dinner prepared by the restaraunt and karaoke in the clubhouse.   Advance registration for the Beer Mile not required.  It will be $10 including beer, payable at the event. 

Thanks to our sponsors Goodr Sunglasses and Mas Korima all race winners get a pair of Goodr running sunglasses, and all participants can enjoy samples of Mas Korima energy snacks.

Event details and schedule

If you're planning to come out Saturday for the Naked Beer Mile or dinner and karaoke, there are plenty of dry camping tent and RV spaces.  The best spaces fill up early, but we'll help you locate an area whenever you arrive. Naked Beer Mile registration starts at 2 and the run is at 3.  It's just $10 and includes the beer.  

On race day, gates to the resort and registration opens at 8AM, race starts at 10:30. Carpooling is appreciated!  Awards ceremony at noon with medals and Goodr Sunglasses for top finishers in all age categories. Restaurant opens at 8AM and remain open through dinner.  Thirst Aid refreshment bar opens at 11.The pool and activity areas are open all afternoon and into the evening.

Bring sunscreen, a towel and a smile.   Depending on weather leading up to the event the pool can be anywhere from 65 - 75 degrees, but the huge jacuzzi is always nice and hot.  There is a large selection of deck chairs, regular chairs, benches and open areas for relaxing. 

We offer a key check service so you can lock your car and leave your keys in a secure area while you run (we still haven't seen a runner with pockets). 

Cameras can ONLY be used to take pictures of yourself or immediate group.  No general photography is allowed.  If desired, the resort can provide race photos on the course or of winners receiving medals.
