Event Description
Nise’s Race was organized in memory of my mom, Catherine Denise Thompson who everyone lovingly called “Nise.” My mom, Nise passed away on October 13, 2018 after a 5-year battle with cervical cancer.
What’s important to know about cervical cancer is…It Is Preventable!
As long as women go to their annual check-ups, complete health screenings, and get the HPV vaccine, they can prevent and/or detect any issues early enough to treat them.
What’s important to know about my mom is she loved people, and she was a “hugger.” She enjoyed working with children and was a paraprofessional at Scoggins Middle School and Dallas Elementary School. Nise was married to Army Veteran, Larry Thompson for 36 years honoring their vows, “until death do us part.” She passed away at the young age of 56 years old leaving behind 3 daughters and 2 grandsons.
What’s important to know about me is I am a health and fitness enthusiast and I love helping people. These two factors have fueled my passion to take action.
My mission in life is to help as many women as possible prioritize their health.
I believe that when we have physically and mentally healthy women, we have happy and fulfilled women. When we have happy and fulfilled women showing up in their family, we have nurtured and successful families. When we have nurtured and successful families showing up in their communities, we have thriving and prosperous communities.
All life begins with a woman. If we enlighten her and empower her, she will inspire future generations.
Join us for a fun, active family event for a great cause!
We greatly appreciate your support.
