             The Little Pub of Stratford invites you to get a head start for Cinco de Mayo!

Join us on Sunday, May 2nd for the inaugural #LetHerRun Little Pub Miles For Margaritas from our Stratford location.

You can run or walk the "chip timed 3+ mile event" OR walk the UNTIMED Margarita Mile option.

Both courses run through the scenic seaside neighborhood of Lordship, in Stratford. 
Regardless of distance, all participants will receive the same 'swag' and be treated to a terrific post-race margarita (soft drinks and non-alcoholic options also available).

This safe, modified event follows all state guidelines and health department mandates as outlined below.

EVENT INFORMATION

The 5k Run/Walk is an individual bib, chip-timed event from your start to your finish. You will receive your ‘net’ time.

A specially designed T-Shirt will be size guaranteed to entrants registered by April 26. After that "as available" so don't delay!

Sealed/pre-wrapped refreshments and fluids after you are done- and MARGARITAS for ages 21 and above only.

Parking available in lots of the Little Pub, along Washington Pkwy, and along the seawall.

    PLEASE try to carpool and arrive early. This is a residential area- parking along the seawall may fill up early with non-event cars.
 

AWARDS- sorry there are no age group nor overall prizes in 2021
                  In accordance with CT state guidelines, we cannot host an awards ceremony nor post-event gatherings.

                  (These could be reinstated and we will post on this site if they are allowed.)

REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 150 people! Sign up now, before it’s too late. Don't get shut out!

Online registration closes once we are full -  It will remain open on Race Day until 15 minutes before the start if we are not full.

 
There is NO PAPER, IN PERSON REG - all must be done online. 

ONLINE REGISTRATION FEES - THE 3+ MILE TIMED EVENT - $30 for ALL ages 

LATE ONLINE REGISTRATION Register May 1 & MAY 2,  $35 - unless we sell out. 

ONLINE REGISTRATION- THE ONE MILE WALK ONLY, UNTIMED EVENT - $25 all ages UNTIL WE SELL OUT

COURSE DETAILS great water views, 95% flat, and quiet roads. Our map will be posted soon.

 Roads are OPEN - you'll need to run/walk safely and be aware at all times.

*We REQUEST that you NOT use earpods of any type so you can hear any warnings and instructions during your participation.

NO WATER TABLES ON THE COURSE nor water cups at the start/finish- CT guidelines. Carry your own fluids if needed.

TIMED EVENT DISTANCE- pending police approval will be an accurately measured route between 5k (3.1mi) and 3.5 miles.

SATURDAY MAY 1st: 10 am -11am Bib Pick-up & swag distribution. Stay for our breakfast & brunch specials!

CHARITY PARTNER - Emerge is located right in our town of Stratford. The mission of Emerge is to inspire women and children, who are homeless survivors of domestic violence, to transform their lives by providing safe housing and support services. The CT WaveRunners is a social running club based in Madison, CT welcoming runners of all ages and abilities. As a 501c3 charity, this year we are raising funds for local organizations like Emerge Inc (in Stratford)  http://emerge-inc.org/  to help build awareness for domestic abuse prevention. We are partnering with the Little Pubs and soundRunner locations throughout CT to build awareness and create an environment where women can run without fear through the #LetHerRun women’s safety campaign.

SAFETY MODIFICATIONS

COVID CONCERNS- Thanks to the many Departments of Stratford we will be able to present this outdoor event. No building will be used, safe distances and safety protocols will be in place, and State guidelines will be met.

HOWEVER-we all must be prepared for any change that can happen at any time which may mean a suspension of this live event, and result in a 'virtual' run. 

With fixed costs and pre-payment of many items, this means we CANNOT under any conditions REFUND any registration fees. Whether we are live or virtual our commitment to our charity will be maintained. We hope you can support this commitment and join us.
 
IMPORTANT DETAIL- There will be a 150 person limit for these events. We encourage everyone to donate any additional amount to Emerge, our charity partner.  

MASKS REQUIRED- We must adhere to all safety protocols so please help us by keeping masks on prior to the start line and immediately after you finish. And of course, please keep a safe distance when you arrive, warm-up, chat with friends, and after you are done.
 
MODIFICATIONS FOR A SAFE TIMED START- We will be using a chip-timed, "open start" format FOR THE 3+ MILE EVENT ONLY.  This has been successfully used in various races around the state by our production company. A maximum of five people at the start line leaving at 10-15 second intervals means that a field of 150 can safely clear the start in five minutes or less.

WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR A SAFE START- If you are truly at a speedy running level (6-7min pace per mile or under) we urge you to be at the start early and ready to go at 8:30 am. This will avoid crowding on the course and help everyone to run more safely. Thanks!
ON THE COURSE- We ask you to stay safe, announce if you are passing from behind, and not to run in groups.

THE ONE MILE WALK ONLY UNTIMED EVENT- We ask you to keep a safe distance and please let any runners pass safely by staying to the side of the course as much as possible. MASKS ON AT THE START AND WHEN YOU FINISH (and if possible while you walk, thanks!)
