Event Description

We are celebrating National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day with a virtual 5K - April 30 - May 10.  Join us and help raise funds for Shelter pets! 

What are we doing: In recognition of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter (Friends) is hosting a Virtual 5K Run/Walk or any other activity that achieves 3.2 miles on a date and time of your choosing between April 30 and May 10. Our Virtual 5K allows you to participate at your own pace, in your own time and your home, neighborhood or on your favorite trails. This is a family-friendly activity, pets welcome that allows you to help raise funds for our shelter page during this hectic time. Please obey all local road/trail/park laws social distancing and be safe.

Registration: You can register as an individual or as a team. Fundraising is not required for the Friends Virtual 5K, however, you can help raise more funds for shelter pets. Customize your fundraising experience, you can set a goal when you register and invite your family, friends and co-workers to help you to raise more funds for our shelter pets! We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of homeless pets. All proceeds benefit Fairfax County Animal Shelter pets in need of medical care and other treatments that will help prepare them for healthier lives and the new families that await them.
