Event Description

Cafecito Caliente wishes to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the 2nd Annual Cafecito Caliente 5k Run/Walk on Lansing's south side. The race highlights include running the River Trail which this part of the course is mostly shaded and was well received at the 2018 event.

The course starts at Maguire Park and continues into Hawk Island. The scenery changes into the woods next to the water on the parks west side of Lansing's River Trail. One mile into the park is the turnaround and finishes back at Maguire Park.

Upon completing the course, runners can partake in having pan dulce (sweet Mexican bread) and coffee both freshly made to perfection!

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Latino Advisory Committee which acts as a parental advisory group for Latino parents and students in the Lansing, Michigan area. 

Cost: Before September 4, 2019: Adults $25 Students $15 t-shirt and customized medal/bottle opener/magnet are guaranteed.
After September 4, 2019: Adults $30 Students $20 t-shirt and customized medal/bottle opener/magnet will be offered as supplies last. 

Run as a family group and save! - Register 3 or more people at the same time and save $5 per participant. 

Packet pickup will be Friday, September 13, 2019 at Sir Pizza Grand Café in Lansing's Old Town from 4pm to 8pm as well as in the morning of the race at Maguire Park starting at 8:00 am

T-shirt: Each participant is guaranteed a shirt if they preregister by September 4th. After that shirts are available while supplies last.

Awards: Award to overall male and female and each division winner.

Age divisions: 10 to 15, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80+

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and on the web at Playmakers.com
