Event Description
The Rockford Fire Department welcomes you to participate in the 14th Annual 911- 3K Run. The run was formed to bring Fire and Medical prevention education to our community. 911 is symbolic in alerting your emergency and allows us to educate adults and children with its purpose. As you notice our start time also carries the same function (09:11am). All proceeds are utilized to purchase items on how to stay safe before an emergency can occur. These benefit many ages from pre-school children to adult seniors. The department has direct contact with over 60,000 people per year. We reach many more with the use of social media. The department utilizes many events to spread the knowledge of Fire and Medical emergency information. The department attends many school functions grades K-12, our colleges and University, neighborhood group meetings, employee safety fairs, daycare facilities, businesses requesting training, emergency planning assistance, and many other topics. Annually we provide residents with many smoke detectors and assure a proper installation. The department utilizes many training aids to illustrate fire and medical education to our community. USATF certified course with fun additions this year.
All racers will receive a blended fabric race shirt (Shirts only guaranteed with registration through May 17th). Youth sizes (S, M, L) included with registration for kids 12 and under. Option to purchase adult size tee.
Overall awards for top male and female finishers and masters; age group awards for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, post-race snacks.
Following the race there will be a Kids Fun Run for children ages 8 and under (details on event page).
Packet pick-up and late registration will be held at Fleet Feet Sports Rockford (1653 N. Alpine Rd., Rockford, IL)
Friday, May 31st, 2019 from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Cost for late registration and day of registration is $38 or $13 for children 12 and under.
Day of registration at the race site from 7:30 am to 8:45 am. *There will be no late registration after 8:45am
The race will start behind Target and proceed through the Midway Village walking path. Free parking will be available at Target 6560 E State Street, Rockford, IL 61108
