Event Description
The Boring Marathon, Half-Boring Half-Marathon, Constantly Boring 8K and Really Boring Relay will take place on September 16, 2018. All races start and finish at Boring Station Trailhead Park in downtown Boring, Oregon. Parking will be at Boring Middle School and surrounding neighborhood. Please use SE Wally Rd and SE School Ave to reach parking after 6:15 am, as runners will be crossing SE Dee St. The four races are all on the Springwater Trail, out and back, with the marathon having a few side detours to take in some local neighborhoods. The marathon mainly follows the Springwater Trail into Gresham and then continues onto a portion of the Gresham-Fairview Trail to Division Street before returning to the Springwater Trail, heading further west for a few more miles, then turning and heading home to Boring following the same route. The Half Boring Half is an out-and-back on the Springwater Trail. The same goes for the Contantly Boring 8K, which never really leaves the Boring area, so truly is constantly Boring. The Really Boring Relay is two loops of the half marathon route, with exchanges at Main City Park and Boring Station. The relay consists of four runners, with the first and third runners doing 7.5 mile legs and the second and fourth runners doing 5.5 miles. All races support the cross country and track teams at Barlow H.S. and West Orient Middle School and all proceeds go directly to these programs.
Limit - Marathon is limited to 150, Half to 150, the 8K to 100, and the relay to 25 teams of 4 runners each due to medal numbers.
