Event Description

The Rotary Club of Bal Harbour and Bal Harbour Police Department 5K Race/Walk will take place in the southeast corner of Haulover Park.  The race will occur against a background of a cool ocean breeze just as the sun rises.   The entire course is located in the park so there is no running on city streets.   In other words, perfect conditions to run a race!   

All proceeds from this race will go to fund a scholarship in memory of the late Chief Mark N. Overton, a beloved Police Chief of the Bal Harbour Police Department, to benefit an individual(s) aspiring for a career in Law Enforcement by assisting with the costs associated with the police academy training and certification of a self-sponsored recruit in Miami-Dade County.

This is the third annual race sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bal Harbour.  The March 08 race is the rescheduling of our October 22, 2017 race that was cancelled due to the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.  

Event details and schedule

Haulover Park is situated on both sides of Collins Ave (US Hwy A1A) between Sunny Isles Beach to the north and Bal Harbour to the south.   Start and finish line will be in the southeast corner of the park.    Because this is a county park, the Miami Dade Parks Commission reserves the right to charge for parking.   We are working with them to arrange free parking for all race participants.
