COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 100-mile out-and-back course is in the midst of the Colorado Rockies. Low point, 9,200 feet; high point is Hope Pass, 12,600 feet. Majority is on forest trails with some mountain roads. Pacers allowed after the 50-mile point (exceptions only by request).

Aid Stations
There are 11 well-stocked aid stations along the course. Cut-off times for the aid stations do apply.

PACER & CREW INFORMATION
Your race checklist isn’t complete without your pacers and crew! Give them a way to commemorate this special experience with their own Leadville Race Series memorabilia. Visit our online store to check out our exclusive LRS crew shirts (pictured on right) to get your team prepared for race day!

Pacers
Pacers are allowed after the 50-mile point (Winfield Aid Station). You may have as many pacers as you wish, although only one pacer at a time (until mile 99). Pacers may be picked up only at aid stations and approved crew points. A pacer must fill out a waiver prior to being on course. The waiver can be filled out at the aid station or you may print one here. The waiver must be turned in at an aid station to receive the proper pacer bib.

Pacing entails patience, tolerance and humor. The primary duties of a pacer include route finding, keeping the runner on pace, ensuring that the runner continues to eat and drink and making sure the runner leaves the aid stations with adequate clothing and supplies to reach the next aid station. Pacers are not allowed to push, pull, carry or tow the runner. Any special pacing situations or requests must be pre-approved by race management.

Crew
We strongly suggest you bring someone to crew for you during the race. Your race packet includes a hang-tag which should be displayed and readily visible on the crew vehicle at all times. Your crew is your personal responsibility. If your crew disregards parking instructions, race rules, directions or requests from race officials, you (the racer) will be disqualified from the race. Please make certain that your crew is not the one others complain about. We ask that your crew drive slowly and obey all posted warnings. There will be a Lake County Sheriff’s Officer patrolling road sections.

Crew access into aid stations may be limited. If crews are meeting you at aid stations, they should allow adequate time to park and walk to the aid station. It is your responsibility as a runner to make sure that race officials time you in and out of all aid stations. The race packet includes a map and directions showing access roads and crew access points, and crew and pacer rules. Crews should become familiar with the locations of aid stations, available access roads and race rules prior to the start. . Crewing is restricted to approved locations, which include Pipeline Alternate Crew Zone and all aid stations except Halfpipe and Hopeless (near Hope Pass).
