Event Description

Serves for Suicide is a volleyball benefit dedicated to the memory of SGT Austin Millard, a member of the Wisconsin National Guard who tragically took his life on November 6, 2022.

He left behind his wife, three young children, and a wide circle of family and friends. An average of 18 veterans die by suicide each day. This annual event aims to raise awareness about suicide, particularly among service members.

HOOAH’s mission is to prevent suicide through a proactive approach that promotes the overall wellness of service members, veterans, and their support networks, utilizing various programs and certified professionals. HOOAH serves all branches of the U.S. Military. Each year, HOOAH organizes a Veteran Suicide Awareness March to honor the lives and service of those who have succumbed to suicide. Each mile of the march features a boot representing a different fallen service member, along with their story.

SGT Austin Millard will be commemorated annually during this event. We are thrilled to host a volleyball tournament in Austin's honor, with all proceeds benefiting HOOAH. This fundraising effort will support HOOAH's ongoing initiatives and enhance their mission to combat veteran suicide.

Each year our event will host the volleyball tournament along with a bounce house, raffles, 50/50, and more. Be sure to follow our Facebook page for the latest updates. All proceeds from the event are donated directly to HOOAH. In our first year we raised over $6,000 and in our second year we raised over $10,000 to donate to HOOAH.

ALL PROFITS WILL GO TO THE HOOAH OF WI.
