Event Description

We are six weeks away from our first annual Gold Star Memorial Day Run here in Waterside. A couple of quick notes:

We will have one route that will be marked with cones and American Flags. I have presented two options. Check them out and we will do a vote on the option most pick. 

Volunteers needed. Anyone that can help me set up the course would be appreciated.  Anyone that would like to have their cars or golf carts helping make sure our runners stay safe and keep intersections clear as they pass would be appreciated as well. If anyone wants to volunteer to sing the National Anthem prior to the race, let me know. 

Neighbors not participating. Would love to see y’all line the sidewalks in front of your  homes and support our runners. Play music, cheer, noisemakers. Show our neighborhood love. Check out the route. If your house is on it, just step outside and cheer. If your home is not, come to the finish line or another spot on the course to watch and cheer on your neighbors. 

Runners. Have fun. Dress in patriotic gear, run with American flags, ruck march, etc. 

Schedule: 7:15am check in begins at Hideaway Gulch Green space 
                 8:00am Moment of Silence. National Anthem. 

                 8:05am Gold Star Run begins   

The giveaway. Instead of medals, we are going to do unique pins. At the end of the race, each participant will be given a lanyard (if you haven’t gotten one from the Turkey Trot) and will select an American Flag pin design of their choosing that can be pinned to the lanyard. Every race we do, will have a unique pin. Collect them all and show off your Waterside race swag!
