Event Description
Join us for a virtual fitness challenge to help kitties in need! Whether you choose to walk, run, roll, or krawl, we challenge each participant to cover a distance of at least 8.57 miles throughout the month of April. Why 8.57 miles, you ask? Berks County has a total land area of 857 square miles. That's 857 square miles of land where injured and ill community cats are supported by the Berks Cats in Crisis emergency veterinary care fund. Help us replenish our funds so that we can help more cats in need by participating in the Kitty Krawl!
Quick Kitty Krawl Facts:
- The Krawl is free! No ticket fee and no processing fees will be charged to participants.
- You don't need to cover the entire distance all at once, and you can choose any activity that suits your preference and ability.
- You're welcome to complete the Kitty Krawl on your own or ask friends and family to join (or compete with!) you.
- Through your RunSignUp account, you'll be able to log your Kitty Krawl mileage results.
- On the Berks Cats in Crisis Kitty Krawl event page, we will provide information that you can share with others to help you collect donations for BCIC as a race participant.
- Every participant who collects donations for BCIC will be eligible for Kitty Krawl prizes. Prizes will be awarded for the individuals who:
- Complete the most miles,
- Raise the most donations for BCIC, and
- Receive the most "likes" on a picture of you participating in the Krawl on the Facebook event page.
- Every participant will also be entered into a drawing for a raffle prize. Check out our Facebook event page for more prize details!
How are donations collected?
- Participants are asked to collect donations and to submit them to BCIC by check or paypal.
- Check out the Kitty Krawl event page on Facebook to download an offline pledge form or to share a social media post that can be used to create a Facebook fundraiser for BCIC. Choose the collection method(s) that works best for you!
- Participants who submit their collected donations by May15, 2025 will be entered to win race prizes.
- Your supporters may also donate directly to BCIC by paypal or check (please ask them to note your name when doing so, so we can add their donation to your total).
- Collecting donations in this way allows us to keep this event free for participants and ensures all of the funds raised go directly to supporting the kitties!
About Berks Cats in Crisis:
Berks Cats in Crisis is a 501c-3 non-profit organization. We are a small, volunteer-run organization that raises money to pay for veterinary care for critically injured and ill community cats and kittens found in Berks County. We partner with finders, veterinarians, and rescues to ensure that cats without owners do not suffer with untreated medical issues simply because they do not have a family to provide for them. When possible, we also support local first responders with hands-on emergency support for cats facing life-threatening crises. All funds raise in the Kitty Krawl will be used to replenish our emergency veterinary care fund. With your support, we can continue our mission to alleviate the suffering of the deserving animals we are privileged to assist. We are so grateful to our supporters and thank you for participating in the Kitty Krawl!
