Event Description

Want to get in on a unique fitness challenge this SPRING? Each week there is a different theme that will keep you moving for 6 weeks. When you complete a challenge, you will enter your results online and be entered to win a WEEKLY PRIZE. If you can't participate on a particular week, you will be given 8 weeks total to complete all challenges. Complete all 6 challenges between April 7th and June 1st, 2025 to receive a SWEET R4R COOLING TOWEL perfect for the hot summer season.

We also have a fundraising goal of $1,125 to fund 25 brand-new pairs of running shoes for one of our schools participating in the Runnin' for Rhett Youth Fitness Program. 

 

Here are your weekly challenges if you choose to accept them:

 

Week 1: 5K A Day - for at least 3 days of this week, get in a 5K or 3.1 miles per day. Extra credit for five 5K's this week. Record your runs/walks on your favorite fitness apps and screengrab those images to upload to Runsignup. Fun photos of your route are encouraged too. The minimum entry is 9.3 miles to complete this challenge. 

 

Week 2: Parks and Rec (Strength in Parks) - Visit 3 parks in your area and work on your strength training while there. Check out a Reps for Rhett Meetup with Nancy L or Nancy F, or just try out the monkey bars, pull-up bars, and get in your squats or lunges. The minimum time is 30 minutes at each park for a total of 90 minutes in a park this week. Upload your park and workout photos to Runsignup.

 

Week 3: Weeeee Tri (3 new things this week) - Try a new Meetup location, activity, new recipe, or do 3 sports in one day! Take a photo of each activity and upload to Runsignup. No time or mileage is required this week. 

 

Week 4: Art & Architecture - Get in 5 miles throughout the week and along your walk, run, or cycling route, photograph 5 different art pieces, sculptures, murals, or cool home/building architecture. Tie this in with Big Day of Giving where we meet in Midtown for dinner and drinks or check Meetup for a Photography stroll with Brian Guzman. Minimum of 5 miles this week. Upload your photos to Runsignup.

 

Week 5: Bridges the Connect Us! Walk, run, or ride over at least 5 different bridges with a combined distance of at least a 5K (3.1 miles). Grab photos and upload to Runsignup.

 

Week 6: Food & Fitness - Participate in a taco crawl, coffee run, or check out the Pizza Pass on May 16th or the Chocolate Chase 5K on May 18th. All of these activities count towards this challenge. Get in a 5K minimum to complete this challenge and gather lots of fun photos!
