Event Description
The 2nd annual Skiathlon Race is scheduled for Sunday, February 23rd starting at 9AM. The skiathlon will consist of both classic and skate skiing. The event can be completed by one person, or a two-person team relay (all male, all female or co-ed). The race course will consist of classic skiing, a transition area to change into skate equipment, and finish the leg of the course with skate skiing. The total distance is approximately 12K. So, get your skis waxed, find a buddy - get ready to have some fun!
This first annual skiathlon will be held in honor of Bill Chambers who passed away recently. Bill was a longtime resident of Grand County who loved Nordic skiing and being part of the mountain community.
The race fee is $55.00 per person which includes the entry fee, as well as a meal following the race. Lunch will include a vegetarian chili and Devil's Thumb Ranch's Signature Wagyu chili with a beer.
