Event Description
Beginner’s League
Whether you have never curled before or are looking to get some more experience before joining league play, the Beginner’s League is the right place for you. This four week league will start with the basics of “learn to curl” and add on new techniques and strategies each week. By the end of the 4 weeks, you will be ready to join League play.
Each member will be placed on a team with a coach. Each session will start out with fundamental skills training and then feature a game to apply your new skills. The coaches will work with you on your on-ice skills, the etiquette of the sport, and getting you ready to play with more experienced curlers.
Best of all, you do not need to purchase any equipment to join the league. Some players may choose to get their own shoes or brooms, but that is not a requirement to be in the Beginners League. The Loggerhead Curling Club has everything that you need to get started.
Dates
3/9/2025 – 530p-8p
3/16/2025 – 530p-8p
3/23/2025 – 530p-8p
3/30/2025 – 7p-930p
How much is it?
The total cost is $100 for 4 weeks. That includes your $50 for you 2025 annual club registration (insurance, equipment rentals, etc) and the $50 charge for the league itself. The $50 club registration is good for the entire year, so if you join a league later in 2025, you will NOT have to pay it again.
Who can join?
Curling is a sport for all ages. However, at this time, we do not have children’s stones, so we are limiting the league to those 16 and older for this session.
What should I wear?
- Shoes: No raised heels or flip-flops. Running shoes work best, but be sure the soles are clean to avoid slipping.
- Pants: Choose pants that allow for easy movement, as curling requires flexibility. Avoid jeans, as they can leave cotton on the ice and restrict movement.
- Layers: Ice rinks can be cold, so we recommend dressing in layers. A light jacket, gloves, and thick socks will help keep you comfortable throughout the session.
