Event Description

Join the Hobart Professional Firefighters Local 1641 in honoring the late Ted Hansen III.  This year is the 30th anniversary of the ultimate sacrifice paid by Ted in service to his fellow firefighters and community.  Ted heroically gave his life while searching for reported victims trapped in a house fire on April 13th 1995.  This year we are inviting the community to assist us in honoring the life and sacrifice of our dear brother Ted.  All participants are welcome as we will have waves dedicated to competitive runners,  casual runners, and additional challenges for firefighters who want to complete the run in gear.  All participants, family, and friends are encouraged to attend a memorial service immediately after the completion of the race where you will have the opportunity to hear from the Hansen family and members of the Hobart Fire Department.  Please join us as we celebrate, honor, and remember Ted and dedicate ourselves to working together to ensure that his sacrifice will never be in vain.
