The final edition of the certified 5K / Grand Caverns Race Series is happening on April 25th, 2025! Special thanks to our presenting sponsors - CARDINAL DENTAL SPECIALISTS!
We offer an all-weather event since 2012 that is festive & fun for participants, spectators & volunteers!!
Race medals will be given to all finishers!! Prizes will be given to the top three finishers per 5K age group (age groups up to 90+ years)!!
Chip-timing wil be used for the 5K.
Please join us for the 26th running of our race series at the historic Grand Caverns Park in Grottoes, VA. The 5K race series offers a "flat and fast" course in & around the park.
Thie CERTIFIED 5K race has a twilight start (6:30 PM on April 25th).
The 1-Mile fun run / walk stays within the park along the picturesque trail. The One Miler begins approximately 5 minutes after the start of the 5K.
Cannot make it? Then be a PROXY PARTICIPANT! For just $10, you can register for the 5K and just stay at home! We will select another runner to go the distance for you. After the race, we will send you your BIB and "finishing" time!
All proceeds will go towards the purchase of a new "natural" playground at the Grand Caverns Park.

Packet pickup will begin at 5:15 PM the day of the race, April 25th. Please park in the first lot on the left (pass the booth). The registration table, race start, etc. will all be up along the upper parking lot (right of the stone building). The 5K starts at 6:30 PM; the 1-Miler will start approximately at 6:35 PM.
The age group winners (up to 90 years+) for the 5K, the overall top male & female finishers, along with the top 1-Mile finishers, will be announced following the end of the races.
We will run this race in all safe weather conditions (rain, snow, etc.).
Note: Access to the park and the surrounding roads will be cut off 15 minutes PRIOR to the start of the 5K. PLEASE arrive early. Roads will reopen following the completion of the race.
