Event Description

Join us on Saturday, July 26th for the Black Squirrel Scurry Paddling Triathlon.

The Black Squirrel Scurry is a triathlon that features a 2 mile paddle down the Prairie River, a 17.5 mile bike ride featuring the River Bend Trail out to the countryside of Lincoln County (distance pending road construction), and a 5k trail run through the Merrill Area Rec Complex and Council Grounds State Park. Athletes are sent in 30 second intervals.  Races include divisions for 19 and Under Relays, Relays, Tandems, Double tandems (tandem craft AND bike!) and  Age divisions for individuals.  We are also opening solo eBike and Relay eBike races (no throttle). Proceeds from this event will be donated to the “Northwoods Veterans Post” and Friends of the River Bend Trail.  Timing is provided by T & H timing Services, LLC.  Registration will open March 1, 2025 at www.runsignup.com.  This event is geared towards the beginner or intermediate triathlete. Shuttle buses transport athletes from the finish venue to the start.  Check out more details 

Enjoy lunch, free music and raffles at the site of the awards ceremony across from Ballyhoos. Ballyhoos offers the largest variety of craft beers in Merrill. 

Awards will be presented at Cenotaph Park (across from Ballyhoo’s) at approximately 1:30 PM.
