Event Description
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Integrea Community Mental Health Systems is hosting a 5K/1 mile run to raise awareness for mental health in our communities.
Did you know around 1 in 5 adults in the US experienced mental illness in the past year alone? Of these affected individuals, only 25% received care for mental illness when they felt they were struggling.
We can do better, for everyone. No one should feel ashamed or unsupported in seeking treatment for mental illness. This race seeks to help reduce the stigma around mental illnesses and, in turn, make mental health treatment more accessible to all.
Integrea Community Mental Health System is a non-profit, therefore, this event is not being hosted for profit. The utmost goal is to break even. Any donations can be given to other local organizations (like NAMI-East Alabama) to help further the over-arching goal.
