Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced Classes

Achieve your running goals this spring with Fleet Feet Omaha! Our Full and Half Marathon Training Classes are perfect for every runner. Whether you're lacing up your running shoes for the first time or the thousandth time, we will help you reach the finish line.

New this year, we've revamped the training class groupings. Each class will train on the same days but will have different goals and coaches and mentors to get them to the finish line! We are excited to offer these new options to the Omaha running community; see the options here:

The Beginner class is for the runner who is training for their first half or full marathon. The primary goal of this class is making sure you reach the finish line, not worrying about breaking any specific time on the race clock.

The Intermediate/Advanced class is for the runner who has completed multiple half or full marathons, is experienced with training, and is wanting to get faster or set a new personal record!

Pricing

  • New member: $90
  • Returning member: $75
    • Verified after registration 

Weekly Schedule

  • Tuesday: "Just Run" miles for the beginner runners and a weekly speed workout for the intermediate/advanced runners
    • at Fleet Feet Omaha or a nearby track, 6:00pm
  • Saturday: Group long run
    • various locations, 7:00am

Base Mileage

We encourage you to build up your mileage before you start training with us! Here are our suggested weekly base mileage plans for each program:

Beginner Base Training:
  • Half Marathon - 10 miles a week and at least a 3-mile run/walk per run
  • Full Marathon - 20 miles a week and at least a 6 mile long run.  
Intermediate and Advanced Base Training:
  • Half Marathon - 15-20 miles per week and at least a 6 mile long run 
  • Full Marathon - 25-30 miles per week and at least a 8-10 mile run long run

Pacing: Interested in getting the training class for free? We need pacers! Here are the paces we are searching for: 9min/mile, 9:30min/mile, 10min/mile, 10:30min/mile, 11min/mile, 11:30min/mile, 12min/mile. We would like two people per pace group.
