Event Description
Open to all identifying girls and non-binary youth!
The elementary programs are for 3rd—5th graders; CS Porter is for 6th—8th graders and Strength Training is for 3rd—8th graders.
The GRM winter season includes entry to three community races - The Heart Throb 5k on Feb 15, The GRM Ten Virtual Challenge during the entire month of February and The Strength Party on March 2, and The Run for the Luck of It 5k on March 15.
Program Options:
Strength Training: Thursdays, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., January 30 - March 6, at MontanaFit gym. This female-focused program introduces youth to the gym, encouraging them to lift weights and tackle difficult challenges. Using the Brand X Method, our approach builds physical competence, confidence, and motivation, empowering youth to embrace movement fearlessly. Open to all students in 3rd - 8th-grade identifying girls, including homeschool.
Running at YMCA: Thursdays, from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m., January 30 - March 6, at the Missoula YMCA. This session focuses on improving running endurance, strength, and overall fitness through games, sprinting and pacing drills, plyometric strength circuits, goal setting, and life skills workshops. Open to all 3rd - 6th-grade identifying girls, including homeschool.
Franklin Elementary: Wednesdays, immediately following school until 4:45 p.m., January 29 - March 5. This session focuses on improving running endurance, strength, and overall fitness through games, sprinting and pacing drills, plyometric strength circuits, goal setting, and life skills workshops. Registration is available through Missoula Parks & Recreation's website.
C.S. Porter: Fridays, immediately following school until 4:30 p.m., January 31 - March 7. This session focuses on cardio conditioning and strength training while working to improve endurance. Participants will engage in leadership workshops appropriate to the middle school ages. Registration is available through Missoula Parks & Recreation's website.
Lowell Elementary: Tuesdays, immediately following school until 4:45 p.m., January 28 - March 4. This session focuses on improving running endurance, strength, and overall fitness through games, sprinting and pacing drills, plyometric strength circuits, goal setting, and life skills workshops. Hellgate Intermediate: Thursdays, immediately following school until 4:00 p.m., from January 30 - March 6. This program is only for 4th—6th grade identifying girls at Hellgate Intermediate. It focuses on improving running endurance, strength, and overall fitness through games, sprinting and pacing drills, plyometric strength circuits, goal setting, and life skills workshops.
