Event Description

This is a fun way to start your Thanksgiving Day! The cost is only $10 plus 1 non-perishable food item per participant. Unique awards for standard age groups. T-Shirt options are limited - they are leftovers from past races (thus the "recycle" name). This is a flat, fast 5K course. There will be refreshments at Ferry Park afterwards.

Event details and schedule

The 5K run and walk will start at 8:00 on Thanksgiving morning at Ferry Park Ferry Ave in Ft Walton Beach. There are several parking areas along Ferry Ave and Hughes St. There is packet pick up on Wed Nov 27 at Run With It on Racetrack Rd from 4:00-6:00 and again on race-day.  The lines can get long 30 minutes before the start, so if you are picking up race morning be sure to arrive early. The course is a flat, fast 5K that follows Ferry Ave to Sudduth, then back to Ferry, west on Yacht Club to a turnaround, then reverses to Ferry and finishes at the Park. Awards will follow the run/walk (about 9:30). There will be refreshments at the park when you finish. Be sure to bring 1 non-perishable food item per participant that will be donated to local food pantries.
