Event Description
To all runners and outdoor enthusiasts, the Crooked Canter is making its return after a 1 year hiatus. This event is a fun tailgate style running event that the whole family can enjoy. Starting at 9am the bonfire will be blazing at Pinckney Recreation Area at the Crooked Lake Campground. Come and run on the beautiful 4.35 (or 7km) trail loop. The event is advertised as 7km, 13.1, or Backyard Run, but you can run, walk or hike as little or as much as you want. There will be a bonfire, hot chocolate, hotdogs, smores, and more.

Parking:
There is limited parking at the site, so if it is full when you arrive, please plan to park at the end of Silver Hill road. It is about a 0.25 mile walk. Thank you for understanding.

Old Dog challenge:
Log one loop in under your age in minutes. Example, you are 43 years old, you run the loop in 42:59…you will receive a special prize! But be careful, each loop has over 400 feet of elevation!
Start:
Whenever you want! Yes, you can sleep in and still come and run. But the bonfire and first official loop gun will go off at 9am.
Events:
- 4.35 mile (7km) loop – 440ft gain
- 2 loops (8.7m), 3 loops (13.1), 6 loops (26.2), etc…
- Backyard run: Every hour on the hour, the horn will blow for the backyard run. Complete 1 loop each hour until you cant run or until it takes you more than an hour.
