Birdseye Outfitters and Yooper Running Company are hosting the Recycle Run 5K during their weekly group run on Tuesday, October 8. The group run takes place directly from Birdseye Outfitters at 107 E Portage Avenue in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. Please note that this will take place at a special time of 6pm to avoid seasonal darkness. Yooper Running Company is recycling an overstock in medals and bibs from their summer racing season. Everyone will get a leftover medal from one of their races this summer that will have a custom sticker to signify the Recycle Run. This will result in one of the cheapest entry fees of $10/registrant. Each participant will receive a drink token for a complimentary beverage courtesy of Birds Eye Outfitters as well! Online registration will be open until 5:45pm on race day. Bib and/or T-Shirt Pickup will begin at 4:30pm on Race Day. If you prefer to pay cash to avoid the credit card processing fee make sure to arrive 15-30 minutes earlier so we can get you entered into the timing system and get you a bib. Yooper Running will have Yooper Running "Run 906" shirts on sale for an additional $10 cash or venmo fee on race day. Feel free to take advantage of the sale price and purchase as many shirts as you like. If you purchase 3 shirts we will give you a deal of $25 instead of $30! If you are not racing and still want a shirt that day, you can buy one at the discounted prices! There is also an online option for T-Shirts that you can purchase 1 for $8 with your online registration only. Select sizes available.
The course will start and finish near the parking lot/sidewalk tree at Birdseye Outfitters. The course will head east along Portage Ave bike path and will have an aid table at the turnaround point. You can take the sidewalk back in to avoid running with traffic at your back. Traffic is not closed so be cautious especially near intersections and driveways.
There will be a collection of returnable cans/bottles that will be donated directly to O.U.T. House Consortium for the development of trails in the Sault Sainte Marie Area.
