Event Description
Join us for a costumed charity fun run, hosted by Denton Music and Art Collaborative (DMAC Denton) in conjunction with the city of Denton’s 31 days of Halloween! This is an inclusive, family-oriented event, where runners, walkers, and strollers/rollers are welcome. Each participant is required to register, which will include a wristband, themed t-shirt, and entry to the costume contest and all other festivities. The $20 kids' special pricing does not include the themed t-shirt. Stick around after the race to see our award ceremony.
The key element of the event will be the 1 mile Trick or Treat Trail, where participants can stop at various candy stations through the sidewalk path. Maps will be provided of the trail, including candy stops. (Our Trick or Treat trail is the existing cement sidewalk of South Lakes Park in Denton, TX. This specific part of the trail is ADA accessible.) Lastly, we’ll have a public art market during the fun run, where you can meet various local artists and businesses. This will take place in the grassy knoll adjacent to the Trick or Treat Trail and Eureka playground.
For runners who want to do the full 5k, the trail will include the additional 2.1 miles with the soft surface dirt trail at South Lakes Park. For 2024's race we will not be having a timed run. We anticipate that this will be an annual event and would love to grow into a timed run.
