Event Description
On October 19, 2024, Riverview Park in Lock Haven will be the heart of hope and resilience as the community rallies together for the Race Against Violence 5K. This event will raise funds and awareness for two organizations: Roads To Peace and the Ron Dailey Scholarship Fund, a memorial scholarship honoring the life of awarded firefighter Ron Dailey, who was tragically killed in January 2024. The race will start at 10:00 am on October 19th, with day-of registration starting at 9:00 am.
The Race Against Violence 5K is a family-friendly and dog friendly race that welcomes avid runners and walkers alike to participate. The theme for this years’ race is “Champions of Change” with an Olympics inspired theme to raise awareness of five types of violence: gun, domestic, child, mental health/intellectual disabilities and sexual violence.
Roads To Peace advocates and assists survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing essential resources such as emergency shelter, medical advocacy programs, legal advocacy, and so much more. The Ron Dailey Keystone Central School District Scholarship Fund provides money to aspiring firefighters graduating from the district in loving memory of Ron Dailey.
