Event Description
¡HOLA! is excited to kick off our second annual Hispanic Heritage Month Walk/Run, honoring the 62.1 million Latinos living in the United States.
On September 15, the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, we invite everyone to lace up their sneakers and join us. Whether you take a stroll outdoors, go for a hike, enjoy a quick jog, or even walk to the grocery store or mall, we challenge you to set and achieve your own personal distance goal.
Event Details:
Date: This FREE event starts on September 15 and runs through September 30. You have two weeks to meet your personal goal while having fun!
Location: Anywhere! This is a virtual run open to all First Horizon employees.
Individual Prizes* (most miles walked/ran):
- 1st place: $150 gift card of your choice
- 2nd place: $95 gift card of your choice
- 3rd place: $75 gift card of your choice
- 4th place: $50 gift card of your choice
- 5th place: $30 gift card of your choice
**Group Prize:
The group with the most miles will win a meal covered by ¡HOLA! at a select Hispanic or Latino restaurant of your choice.
Additionally, we will randomly select 10 participants to each receive a $10 gift card of their choice. No need to reach 62 miles; every mile you log is appreciated and entered into the draw. Don’t be intimidated by the mileage goal—participate at your own pace!
*For the prizes processes, we will be contacting all the winning participants via email to verify the miles ran. If any of the winners do not have a device to track their miles, please let us know and we are happy to work with you!
**Each group should not exceed 15 members. For the winning team, if there are members in the same location, we encourage them to connect and enjoy their meal together. For members in different locations, we will provide a virtual gift card to a Hispanic or Latino restaurant so everyone can still enjoy the celebration!
You are welcome to log your miles as you go or wait to upload them until the last day: Friday October 4, 2024 10:00:pm CDT.
Registration ends on September 29th.
Winners will be announced October 16th.
Why Participate?
Latinos make up 18.4% of the U.S. population and 17.3% of the labor force, with these numbers expected to rise above 30% by 2060. Latinos start more businesses and enjoy higher rates of intergenerational mobility. Their representation in skilled and higher-paid occupations has also increased in the past decade. Latinos embody the American dream—proving that hard work pays off, and each generation can be better off than the one before.
Let’s celebrate these achievements and the vibrant Hispanic community by walking or running together!
