Event Description

The Third Annual South Florida Strong Against Cancer 5K Run & Walk takes place on the beautiful leafy campus of Nova Southeastern University and is run on a USATF-sanctioned course. It is an all-standards run and walk with teams and individuals all coming together with the common goal of finding a cure for cancer. Proceeds are shared between the American Cancer Society and Rumbaugh Goodwin Cancer Institute. The event includes a post-race celebration with vendors, food & beverages, Nesquik Protein Family Fun Zone, health screenings and a Kids Dash for the Under 5's. This is a chip-timed event and ALL finishers receive a medal!

6:00 am - Registration 

7:15 am - Warm Up

7:30 am - Event Starts

8:15 am - Award Ceremony

8:30 am - Kids Dash

8:30-10:30 Post Race Celebration

This is a USATF-sanctioned course with chip timing. All finishers receive a finisher medal and awards will be given to the top male and female overall, top masters male and female, and top three in the following categories:

12 and under, 13-18, 19-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74, 75-84, 85+

Packet Pick Up will be Wednesday 11, Thursdah 12 and Friday 13 October, time and place TBD by June 1st.

October in Florida can be hot, please wear breathable clothing and if it's very sunny, consider a hat too. Please make sure to wear sunscreen and to hydrate well before and after the race. Water stations are provided throughout the race. 

COSTUMES AND TEAM OUTFITS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED but not mandatory!
