Event Description
Enjoy the excitement of running before a pre-assembled cheering crowd in anticipation of the Annual Gaspee Days Parade! Over 1,600 runners each year flock to participate in this exciting event along the Parkway’s famed red, white, and blue road stripe. Challenge yourself to place a record among our top runners and win a prize or just do it for the fun – either way, you are supporting one of the area’s favorite community events, as all proceeds support funding the annual Gaspee Days Parade. RACE DETAILS
Check In begins at 7:30 AM until 9:00 AM at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, Broad Street & Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI. The race starts at 9:30 AM sharp on Broad Street at Chiswick Road, Cranston, RI. The course spans 5K (3.1 miles) and is bicycle calibrated by Ray Nelson. It runs south on Broad Street into Warwick onto Narragansett Parkway then turns at General Hawkins Drive and returns North. The race finish line is just past the parade reviewing stand at Rhodes Place. Timing and results are coordinated by Yankee Timing and chipped accordingly.
POST-RACE ACTIVITIES
Complimentary refreshments are available for all runners after the race. The race immediately precedes the Gaspee Days Parade so all runners and their families are welcome to enjoy a fun-filled morning and afternoon.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Portable rest rooms are provided for participant use only. Showers and changing facilities are not available. Due to insurance limitations, the use of strollers or baby carriers is prohibited by participants. Pets are also prohibited around the race area for liability and safety purposes. Limited on-street parking available.
