10th Annual 5k Turkey Trot Run/Jog/Walk
Join the Rifle High School Track and Field team in celebrating the 10th Annual Rifle High School Turkey Trot! Come and join local families and others from around the country for the fun where you can run, walk, or jog your way around the course. Support the Rifle High School Track and Field Team by running a 5k before you partake in all of the wonderful Thanksgiving Day Goodies. We're hosting this FUNraiser in hopes of raising enough money to help buy new track equipment, including, a safety discus cage.
Last year we had participants from states that included Arizona and Texas. We are excited for the opportunity to host a community/country event and get people out and about to enjoy this great holiday together. Because of the huge success of last year’s virtual trot, we will have this as an option again for those who are not going to be around Rifle on Thanksgiving. Virtual runners will have the opportunity to upload their times before Sunday the 28th. For those who will be in Rifle come on down and show up at Deer Field Park on Thursday, November 25th, 2021 to walk, jog or run with all of us in person. We encourage you to get out on Thanksgiving morning and support a great cause while spending quality time with family and friends.
Event details and schedule
When:
In-Person: Thanksgiving Day Thursday, November 25th, 2021. Registration and check-in will start at 8 am with the Little Gobbler run Starting around 9:15 am and the Big Gobblers start time at 9:30 am.
Virtual: We encourage the day of Thanksgiving but you can record your time at any point the week of 11/22/2020 - 11/28/20 at midnight. The great thing is that if Thanksgiving is not a great running day you can do it another day!
Where:
In-person: Deer Field Park, 300 E 30th St, Rifle, CO 81650
Virtual: Anywhere you can run/walk/jog a 5k distance. We recommend the website mapmyrun.com or any website that can give you a route to run/jog/walk in your area.
Registration:
Early registration through the active.com link (Shirt size guaranteed)
$25 for individuals or $70 per family.
Large Family/Groups of up to 8 is $120 Early Registration and the week (Shirt size guaranteed)
On and after 11/12/2020 prices increase to $30 for individuals, $100 for family, and large family/groups $160 (Shirt Sizes are not guaranteed!)
We will send out materials including shirts to those who are participating virtual.
Times will be recorded on the active.com website then posted on the RHS track and field Facebook and the RHS website.
