World Cancer Day 5K : Race To End Cancer
This race is is a fun-filled run and walk marking World Cancer Day 2017.
Runners, walkers, teams and individuals are all invited to join in our largest event yet in beautiful Downtown Fort Lauderdale, with a route that takes participants over the New River, through the pretty Rio Vista neighborhood, and back again along the New River and Riverwalk to their starting point where we will host our trademark finish line celebrations! Runners and walkers of all standards and abilities are welcomed on this USATF-sanctioned route!
If you'd like to form a team to participate, it's very simple. Grab your co-workers and form a company team, or your family and friends to form a memorial team in celebration of a loved one lost to cancer. Cancer-related charities are also invited to participate in the team race.

6:30 am - Race day registration, check-in and packet pick-up
7:30 am - Race Starts!
After The Race : Post-race brunch, celebrations, family activities and more, with food and beverages, food trucks and vendors.
THE COURSE
The course is primarily flat but includes the SE 3rd Avenue bridge. The course begins on Huizenga Plaza in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, and takes participants through the beautiful Rio Vista neighborhood and along the intracoastal waterway before finishing along the scenic Riverwalk.
Parking is available both on surrounding streets and in parking lots opposite the Park, and across Andrews Avenue.
TIMING
Timing is provided by Split Second Timing.
AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the top male and female overall, masters, wheelchair and in age categories, beginning at 10 & under, 11-17, 18-24 and then every five years through 85 plus.
COMFORT AND SAFETY
Please make sure to wear sunscreen (this is Florida, after all) and to hydrate well before the start of the race. We will have water stations every mile, please make sure to take your water on board!
Wear light, breathable clothing and if you are particularly susceptible to the heat a hat is also advised.
PRE-RACED PACKET PICK UP :
Pre-race packet pick up will be Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd February.

TEAM ENTRIES
Families, companies, charities and schools - grab a friend, a co-worker or a family member and form a team. Teams consist of five people or more. Register before November 1st and receive a free upgraded performance t-shirt in lieu of your race t-shirt! Teams consisting of 10 or more members receive sponsor benefits at the Vendor Level.
